AGNTCY Agent Identity is an Apache-2.0 service that verifies, registers and issues identities (badges) for MCP servers, A2A agents and OASF entities; AGNTCY was open-sourced by Cisco in March 2025 and donated to the Linux Foundation on 29 July 2025.
Caveat: Adoption is light despite heavyweight governance: roughly 2,000 GitHub stars across the whole AGNTCY org as of June 2026.
