MCP Reference Servers
The official reference MCP server collection maintained by the MCP steering group.
The modelcontextprotocol/servers repository is the official set of reference MCP implementations, now trimmed to about seven servers (Everything, Fetch, Filesystem, Git, Memory, Sequential Thinking, Time) with the rest moved to servers-archived; the README directs users to registry.modelcontextprotocol.io for discovery, and it is mid-transition from MIT to Apache-2.0 for new contributions.
Caveat: Repository is mid-transition between MIT and Apache-2.0; check per-file licensing before commercial reuse.
