OpenClaw
Personal AgentsOpen source · MITSelf-hosted
Self-hosted open-source personal agent runtime with a skill marketplace.
OpenClaw is an MIT-licensed, self-hosted personal agent runtime with no hosted tier: state, memory and credentials stay on the user's own machine behind a local gateway. Its creator Peter Steinberger joined OpenAI in February 2026 as an acqui-hire, and the project is now governed by the independent OpenClaw Foundation.
Caveat: Third-party sites report star counts between roughly 346,000 and 400,000 with no agreed figure. A site calling itself OpenClaw Cloud / getopenclaw.ai presents itself as official, which contradicts the project's stated position of having no hosted tier.
